All five-star hotels and villas share some dirty secrets with other hotels, and if you knew those secrets, you would probably cancel your trip and choose to stay home. We want you to know the secrets so you can take care of yourself.

Before you start reading this blog, we want you to have a glass of water and sit in a ventilated area so you don’t feel out of breath. Some of the facts might make you throw up, so having a waste bin nearby is highly advisable.

Here are some dirty secrets from the rooms to the pantry of hotels you would dream of staying in.

Secret #1 Death

‘Death’ tops our list of hotel secrets because no one likes to talk about it. Every hotel witnesses one or two natural deaths in its rooms. The fact is, they will never tell you. You will never learn that the room you are staying in was once occupied by someone who is no longer alive. Hotels don’t like to leak such information.

Secret # 2 Unwashed Drinking Glasses

You get drinking glasses, water bottles, tea and coffee bags, and sugar as you occupy a room. The drinking glasses, in particular, are not as clean as they may look. Someone from the top hotels confirmed that the glasses are rinsed and wiped (not washed). So your chances of getting germs from those glasses are super high.

Secret # 3 Paid Complimentary Breakfasts

When you book a hotel, you may look for one that offers complementary breakfasts to save money. But the complimentary breakfasts aren’t actually free. The fee for the food is hidden in other items. You might be charged extra for something instead of being charged directly for breakfast.

Secret # 4 All Deluxe Rooms Are Not Same

All of us check out images and confirm online bookings for deluxe and suites in hotels. But what you get in real might be different from what you see online. Moreover, not all deluxe rooms are the same. For instance, some deluxe rooms in a hotel might have a large balcony while some might have a bigger bathroom.

Secret #5 You Can Change Room

If you don’t like your room, you can reject it before staying in. Ask the hotel receptionist to change your room. But, if all rooms are filled, you may have to stay whatever has been offered to you.

Secret #6 You Might Have to Walk Out of Hotel

Most hotels are booked at 110% capacity during vacation and holidays. There is a high chance of you appearing on check-in day and not finding a room even if you have booked the room in advance. You may have to face a delay and may have to wait for hours at the reception to get the room. Hotels are responsible for helping you get a room. If they can’t provide you with a room in their hotel, they might arrange one for you at the same price as some other hotel.

Secret #7 There are Always Rooms

All hotels have some rooms secured to allow guests accommodate incase of some issues such as AC not working, bedding issues, and more. They may put no vacancy board outside their hotel, but they always has a spare room for their guests.

Secret #8 You Can Avoid Cancellation Fee

During holiday periods, hotels require reservations and may even charge a cancellation fee. However, you can avoid the cancellation fee by postponing the date. Simply ask the hotel to postpone your stay.

Secret # 9 Your Bedding is Dirty Than Bathroom

The hotel bedding is filthy and dirty. They never change the bedding in between the stay. And whatever they do to clean the duvet and bed sheets, you wouldn’t want to know. You may find dirt and even debris beneath the mattress. You may not want to know what happened on those beds.

Secret # 10 Never Book A Discounted Hotel

There are websites that offer amazing discounts on hotels. These hotels, unfortunately, are already doing badly, and booking a room in their hotel is like murdering your vacation.

If you want to make the best of your holiday and don’t wish to be disappointed with the hotel, book a hotel from its website. Inform about your requirements and ask for a discount. Ensure you get all the paperwork done within a few seconds on arrival, as your family might be exhausted after a long day of travelling. And don’t think much about hygiene as you can’t do anything about it. Keep sanitisers with you so you can spray them and protect yourself from germs.
